3 Ways a cosmetic tattoo can naturally enhance your features...

About cosmetic tattoo’s

A cosmetic tattoo is created when we implant semi permanent pigments just above the dermis using a needle, this can be on the lips, lash line or brows. They tend to last around 12-18months before requiring a colour boost due to fading however can last years depending on the pigment, how it’s been implanted, and your skin. Dryer skins tend to hold the colour for longer than an oily skin. The longevity of your tattoo will also depend on things like...

-         What skin care you use, be cautious not to take AHA based skin care over your tattoo as these are continuously exfoliating the skin which can cause your tattoo to fade out quicker.

-         Sun protection, always wear a high, good quality SPF to protect your tattoo... even on rainy days in the middle of the winter!

How can a cosmetic tattoo enhance your features?

Anti ageing...

Ageing has a big effect on our features, a few of these we can correct with the right cosmetic tattoo...

Brows... As we age, our brows can thin, drop down or we can lose the tail of our brow, by adding in a few hair strokes, or a light powder effect, we can slightly adjust the angle of your brow tail giving you a more lifted appearance.

Lash line... A very thin line at the base of the lash line, just on the outer corners can also help to give your eyes a lift and the appearance of thicker lashes.

Lips... Colour in our lips can become much more pale as we age, it also starts to shrink back from the natural lip line giving us a smaller, paler lip. By adding a little colour we bring back that youthful tone, we can also tattoo back upto the natural border of your lip, adding the appearance of more volume.

Hair loss...

Hair loss can effect anybody, young/ mature, male/female. A cosmetic tattoo can help to correct this...

Brows... Some people may just naturally have a sparse brow, others may have over-plucked, others may have medical reasons. We can implant hair strokes to make up for the hair loss, giving you a more even shape, or even just a brow! These can be done super fine and natural depending on your requirements.

Lash line...  Again, some people just naturally have thinner lashes, others may have medical reasons, in most cases, we can implant a very thin line across the base of the lashes to enhance the thickness of the lashes.

Colour and symmetry...

Colour and symmetry corrections can be complete with a cosmetic tattoo, remember brows are sisters not twins though and we always have to consider where your natural features sit before we can rebalance!

Brows... We often see people that have, over time, lost the tail to one of their brows more so than the other this is something that we can rebalance with a brow tattoo. Sometimes one brow naturally sits higher than the other, in this case we will balance as much as possible to create better symmetry. Colour wise, a light dusting of colour can sometimes help people who have a brow but just need a little definition, this can give that just tinted look.

Lips... Choosing the correct colour for lips can do wonders for the definition of your lip, have a favourite lippy?... bring it to your consultation, we can match it up. From a sheer natural lip look to wearing lippy 24/7, it all depends what you want from the finished result. Lips can also lack symmetry, especially as we age. We aim to balance out the shape as much as possible within the mapping stage of your appointment, creating balance, definition and youthfulness.

If you have any questions regarding cosmetic tattoos, or if you’re ready to go ahead, you can book in a consultation, where we will talk about what you’d like to achieve, complete a medical and patch test to make sure your good to go on the day of your treatment.
